Life Science Partner recruits founder of Pathway Diagnostics and former head of Research and Development at Specialty Laboratories.
Life Science Partner announces the recruitment of Meeta Patnaik, MD, formerly Senior Vice President of Predictive Diagnostics at PGX Health, LLC, a Division of Clinical Data, to the Laboratory Corporation of America (LabCorp).
LabCorp is one of the world’s largest clinical laboratory networks with scientific expertise in esoteric testing, genomics, and clinical and anatomic pathology. LabCorp performs more than one million tests on approximately 400,000 samples each day. LabCorp is a pioneer in the commercialization of new diagnostic technologies, with more than 35 years of experience in serving physicians and their patients.Patnaik will lead LabCorp’s development of new companion diagnostics business.
In her recent role at PGX, Patnaik was responsible for leading all clinical, scientific and medical affairs in diagnostic initiatives for the company and oversight of the diagnostic pipeline through all phases of product development, from very early stage evaluation through collaborative development and commercial launch.
Patnaik is a serial entrepreneur and diagnostic scientist. She was the founding vice President of Clinical Diagnostics for Pathway Diagnostics as well as formerly Vice President, Research and Development for Specialty Laboratories.
In her new role at LabCorp, Patnaik will be responsible for identify opportunities for exploiting LabCorp’s considerable expertise in companion diagnostics and developing and creating bridges between the academic partners and LabCorp’s pharmaceutical customers.

Patnaik earned her MBBS in Medicine at the S. C. B. Medical College in India and completed a Senior Fellowship in the Department of Infectious Diseases at the University of California in Los Angeles, CA.
