Formerly known as the H&Q (Hambrecht & Quist) Conference,  it was an industry summit for healthcare financiers and growth companies from across the United States. 

When Hambrecht & Quist was acquired by JP Morgan Chase in 1999 the conference evolved into an event serving mostly larger firms – as a result its focus shifted away from the emerging growth companies that had previously been its focus.

Recognizing this transition, OneMedPlace saw an opportunity to fill the void and provide a forum for emerging growth companies occuring at the same time. From its modest first-year beginning of 20 companies and fewer than 100 attendees, the conference has grown to more than 100 companies and over 1,300 investors.

It has established a quality brand that consistently assembles leading investors and executives. Most importantly, it sources high quality promising growth companies. By connecting companies and investors, the forum helps advance the firms shaping the future of health and medicine.
