Former Senior Scientist and Advisor to the Director, Division of Oral Health, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
Life Science Partner recruited Eugenio Beltran, DMD, MPH, MS, DrPH, Senior Scientist and Advisor to the Director, Division of Oral Health, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to become Senior Director, Center for Scientific Strategies and Information for the American Dental Association (ADA). The ADA is the oldest and largest national dental society in the world and is committed to both the public and the dental profession.
In this new role, Beltran will execute the strategies of the Science Institute and Council, as envisioned by the Senior Vice President, Dan Meyer. “Beltran has an energy that is infectious,” states Tom Callaway, MD, founder and president of Life Science Partner. “He is a global scientist and who will link the ADA more tightly to its mission to increase the oral health of people worldwide.”
During his tenure at the CDC, Beltran led the evaluation of current recommendations for fluoride in drinking water for the US and he conducted research regarding the epidemiology of dental caries in pre-school children for eight Latin-American countries.
Beltran earned his Bachelor of Science Degree and his Cirujano Dentista (DMD) at the Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia in Peru. After receiving his Master of Public Health and Master of Science from the University of Michigan, he received his Doctor of Public Health from the University of Michigan.
